KARACHI, June 6: The National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) has announced to give, on an annual basis, environment excellence awards to such organisations whose performance in pollution control and environment up-grading has been significant.

According to a press release, issued on Sunday, the award had been constituted to encourage the public, private and corporate sector of Pakistan. A panel of judges duly ratified by the governing body of NFEH has selected companies for the award.

The decision was made after scanning the presentations submitted by various participating organisations. Senior vice-president, NFEH and chairman of the award committee Sirajuddin, while announcing the awards said that a colourful ceremony would be held on June 30 at a local hotel, where the awards would be presented.

The federal minister for environment has been requested to be the chief guest at the award ceremony. On this occasion, a corporate brochure highlighting the role of award winning organizations would also be launched. -APP
