No request from Harbhajan: BCCI
MUMBAI, June 5: Indian cricket board on Saturday pleaded ingnorance over Harbhajan Singh's appearance for an English county club later this month and said it had not received any communication from the player in this regard.
Reacting to reports that off-spinner is scheduled to play for English club Lashings for one month which clashes with conditioning camp for Asia Cup probables in Bangalore, BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya said here, "We have not received any letter from Harbhajan Singh seeking permission".
Media reports in England said Harbhajan is set to make a ceremonious return from a six-month injury lay off when he plays alongside some of the game's all time greats in a 20 overs a side match for Lashings in Kent on Tuesday.
The off spinner, who has been out of action since aggravating a finger injury during first Test against Australia in December, was scheduled to join Lashings on Monday on a month-long contract, BBC said quoting a club official.
The first leg of Asia Cup conditioning camp for 26 probables, including off-spinner, is scheduled from June 13 to 19. The second leg of camp is slated to begin on July 3.-Agencies
