KHAIRPUR: Development hindered by feudalism: Nazim

By Our Correspondent

KHAIRPUR, June 5: District Nazim Nafisa Shah has said that the feudal class was the main obstacle in the social development of the country.

This was stated by her after the inauguration of a road scheme near the railway crossing on Friday night.

Ms Shah said that in the past roads, roundabouts and buildings were named after feudal lords which was not correct.

She said that the district government had decided to name a two-way carriage after Sufi Diti Faqiriyani. She said that the construction of the road would cost about Rs20 million.

She said that the Diti Faqiriyani road has a great importance as it linked the National Highway with the eastern side of the National Highway bypass.

She directed the EDO roads and other officials to ensure the construction of the road as exemplary. She said that no political pressure would be accepted in carrying out the development work.

UC Nazim Bakht Ali Dahot, Rana Shah and others also spoke on the occasion.

NTC: The National Telecommunication Corporation has made telephone lines of many departments of the Khairpur district as one way due to non-payment of bills.

The departments include police, district information office, health, education, income tax, and government printing press.
