LAHORE: Mills to get wheat at Rs360 per 40kg

By Reporter

LAHORE, June 5: The Punjab government will release wheat to flour mills at the fixed rate of Rs360 per 40kg during the next financial year to prevent increase in flour prices.

The decision was taken at a meeting between Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal and a delegation of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association, Punjab Branch, at the Civil Secretariat here on Saturday.

The minister assured the flour mills owners that the cascading formula would not be applied to raise wheat prices after every two months as had been done last year and early this year.

The flour mills association delegation consisted of Punjab PFMA Chairman Liaquat Ali, Adviser Bilal Sufi, Mian Nadeem Nsair, Mujahid Khurshid and Abdul Sattar.
