Lara threatens to quit

KINGSTON, June 4: Brian Lara has threatened to resign as West Indies captain if his side fail to beat Bangladesh in the second and final Test which started here on Friday.

West Indies drew with the fledgling Test nation in the first Test in St Lucia after losing 3-0 to England in a home series in March and April. The team travel to England for a four-match series starting in July and Lara is looking for a result against Bangladesh to save his job.

"If we don't win then I don't think I am going to lead the team to England," he told reporters." If we don't beat Bangladesh in five good days of cricket, we need another leader." -Reuters
