ISLAMABAD, June 4: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has urged the nation to join hands with the government to control pollution by taking practical steps and demonstrating that it is an environment-conscious nation.

The president in a message on the World Environment Day, June 5, said: "Pakistan remains fully conscious to discharge its responsibility to protect this global cause."

PRIME MINISTER: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said Pakistan is committed to join the collective will of international community to take concerted action to protect environment.

In his message, the prime minister said Pakistan recognized the need and the urgency of a healthy environment for respecting and protecting life on the Earth. -APP
