KARACHI: Move for doctors' transfers
KARACHI, June 3: The Sindh health minister, Naeem Ishtiaq, has moved a summary to the chief minister, seeking an approval for transfer of 11 doctors of the School Health Services Karachi to the interior of Sindh.
In the summary, the health minister stated that the school health service had lost its afficacy and medical officers and other officials were not discharging their duties properly, which was affecting the programme, so doctors from Karachi be transferred to the interior of the province against vacant posts.
The doctors proposed to be transferred included Arjundas, Capt. Zakaullah, Mahesh, Kanwar Ram, Imtiaz Ali Jokhio, Rameezuddin Nazar, Dr Abdul Khalique, Sarfraz Ali Shah, Tariq Mangi, Mir Hassan Kolachi and Riaz Arshad. These doctors will be posted according to their city of domicile.
CHK OPD: Sindh health minister Naeem Ishtiaq directed the Vice Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences, Prof. Masood Hameed Khan, to ensure punctuality of faculty members in the OPD of Civil Hospital, Karachi.
In a letter, the health minister drew the attention of the VC towards the situation which has emerged due to late arrival or absence of the faculty members of the university in attending the OPD of the CHK daily.
He also referred to a circular issued on May 26 by the MS of the hospital directing the faculty members to make their attendance in the OPD, but to no avail. The minister stated that the MS had intimated that during his visit to the OPD, no faculty doctor of Surgical Unit-VI, Medical Unit-V, Gynaecological Unit- III, was available till 10 am, whereas the timings for OPD is 9 am to 1.30pm. - PPI
