QUETTA, June 3: The newly appointed Inspector General of Police Chaudhry Yaqoob has said that upholding the supremacy of law would be his top priority in Balochistan as he believed that no person was above the law.

Speaking to the newsmen after assuming charge of his new assignment, here on Thursday, he said that law would be applied in the province without any discrimination.

"I want to give a strong message to all that law would be applied equally against all those who commit a crime," Chaudhry Yaqoob said, adding that he would take all required steps for maintaining law and order in this province.

He said that Quetta and many other parts of the province were facing sectarian violence and terrorist attacks, which was matter of great concern.

He said that the police investigators already traced many such cases, while he would make all possible efforts to dig out other cases and expose those elements who were involved in it. He said police has launched a checking campaign in Quetta and other areas of the province from today to check all suspected vehicles.
