WENTWORTH, May 30: Britain's Scott Drummond clinched his maiden European Tour title on Sunday, edging out Argentina's Angel Cabrera by two shots for the Volvo PGA Championship.

The 30-year-old Scot, who started the day one stroke adrift of overnight leader Cabrera, reeled off birdies at the last two holes for an eight-under-par 64 to finish at 19-under 269.

Cabrera, despite eagling the fourth and 12th, had to settle for outright second after a final-round 67. Six-time major champion Nick Faldo birdied five of the last seven holes on his way to a closing 66 and a three-way tie for fourth at 15-under 273.

TOMS WAY AHEAD

GERMANTOWN: Defending champion David Toms raced to a massive seven-stroke lead on Saturday after three rounds of the St Jude Classic. Toms shot a six-under-par 65, his 11th straight round in the 60s, and finished on 18-under 195.

PGA Tour rookie Vaughn Taylor, on 202, is the closest to Toms. Taylor, the first-round leader, could manage only an even-par 71 as a 20 mph blew for most of the day. Brian Gay holds down third place on 203, while Japan's Hirofumi Miyase is fourth another stroke back.
