By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 30: A six-year-old girl died and her mother was injured when some armed intruders opened fire in their house in Lyari on Sunday morning. Police said that Iqra, daughter of Mohammad Bashir, died and her mother, Fauzia, was injured when at least six armed men barged into the house and opened indiscriminate firing.

The seriously wounded girl was rushed to Civil Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. They said that Mohammad Bashir, who was reportedly an associate of notorious Arshad Papoo, nominated six attackers - Ghaffar, Jabbar, Tahir, Shahzad, Sharif and Amjad - all belonging to Rehman's decoit group. Police termed the killing a result of gang rivalry.
