KARACHI, May 29: The Fishermen's Co-operative Society (FCS) employees union (CBA) staged a protest rally on Saturday against alleged corruption in FCS.

They marched towards the chairman's office, holding banners, to protest against illegal appointments and corruption in the department.

Addressing the protest rally, vice-president Shaukat Hussain and general secretary Saeed Baloch alleged that 427 new workers including 27 relatives of the secretary and DG Fisheries had been illegally appointed in FCS.

They said the benevolent fund of employees was being deducted from salaries but was not deposited in their accounts. They also pointed out corruption in the purchase of pipes, paints and stationary items.

They said the society was being looted, warning that if the situation continued, the department could collapse.-PPI
