KARACHI, May 29: The supply of contaminated water in District Thatta and the situation arising thereof was reviewed at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar on Friday.
The CM directed that people of the district be saved from possible hazards that may be caused by the polluted water.
He said availability of proper medicines in hospitals should be ensured and full attention be paid to the treatment of affected patients.
He directed the concerned officials of the irrigation and health departments and the district government to take protective measures so that no inconvenience was caused to the people.
Mahar also asked officials of the irrigation department to ensure the availability and provision of water upto the tail-end, so that water was supplied for crops and drinking purposes alike.
In the meeting, development schemes of Thatta and other related matters also came under detailed consideration and a number of decisions were taken.
Advisor to CM on Forest Syed Aijaz Shah Shirazi and former Sindh minister Ghulam Qadir Malkani apprised the CM about problems of district Thatta.-APP
