DADU, May 27: More basic facilities including education, sweet drinking water, health and development projects would be provided to the local people in the western part of Dadu district.

This was stated by Philip Byron, General Manager, BHP oil and gas exploring company while addressing nazims, district officials and social workers at a meeting held in the BHP camp near Dadu on Thursday.

Mr Byron said that according to agreement made with the government of Pakistan, the BHP company would continue exploration of oil and gas in the area for 20 years and resources would be used for providing facilities to the local people.

He said that the funds would be utilized for developing tourists points in the area along with education, and health projects. Community adviser and security incharge of BHP company, Colonel Zulfiqar Ali Khan said that according to the policies and agreement, BHP administration was providing sweet drinking water to the villages of the area.

On the occasion, the EDO Health Moula Bux Jamali, DPO Dadu Javed Allam Odho, taluka Nazim Dadu, Syed Zafar Ali Shah and taluka Nazim Johi Datal Khan Jamali also spoke and assured the company administration that they would cooperate in carrying out development works.

SPECIAL TEAMS: EDO Health Dadu, Dr Moula Bux Jamali has directed the taluka health officer of Sehwan to send special teams of doctors along with medicines to the affected parts of Manchhar lake.

He advised the fishermen and people living in surrounding area of the Manchhar to use boiled water.

CENTRES: The education department of Dadu district has established 12 centres for interviews of primary school teachers. Interviews will be held on May 29 and 30 in Dadu district.
