MUZAFFARABAD, May 26: Hizbul Mujahideen has expressed regrets at the alleged condemnation by the British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw of last Sunday's landmine explosion by the group in held Kashmir which left at least 32 people including 19 soldiers dead.
"Indian troops are massacring the people of Kashmir for the past 56 years in general and 15 years in particular, but we wonder why has Britain or any other so-called peace-loving country never condemned India," Hizb spokesman Salim Hashmi said on Wednesday.
Mr Sraw in a statement had "utterly condemned this appalling attack, and expressed his sincere condolences to the relatives of those killed and sympathies to those who were injured". "There can be no justification for such terrorism, whatever its purported purpose," Mr Straw said. Mr Hashmi said the reaction was 'regrettable'.
