PSB sets up summer training camps

PESHAWAR, May 26: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Youth Summer training and coaching camps for squash and weightlifting in U-18 age category will be held at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre (NSTCC).

Talking to reporters, the Director of NSTCC Peshawar, Gul Shad Khan explained that like every year, this time PSB has also decided to hold summer camps in two games, ie squash and weightlifting to involve youngsters in healthy sports activities during their summer vacations.

He said that dates for the camps would be announced later. According to him qualified coaches of PSB would impart training to the players during the one month training. He said NSTCC Peshawar is fully equipped with modern sporting facilities for these two games.

Khan disclosed that all available facilities for different games had been upgraded with renovation work at hotels, furnishing of wooden floor at volleyball, basketball, table tennis, squash and badminton halls have been completed.

He pointed out that with renovation work completed NSTCC sports hotels now has a 100 plus accommodation capacity for the players. He said players interested in participating in the training and coaching camps are required to register themselves by June 3 at the office. The players belonging to local educational institutions and clubs are entitled to attend the camps.
