TOBA TEK SINGH: Woes of ID card-seekers

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, May 26: The condition of entry of one of relative's name whose computerised national identity card had already been issued by Nadra in the application forms has created another trouble in the way of early issuance of CNICs.

People have to travel a long distance to reach Nadra offices from rural areas. They have to return fuming when they were asked by the official concernedto give the name of a family member who had already been issued the computerized card.

A large number of card seekers complained that the registration office where there was old record of the national identity cards, delayed verification of old cards as a result the issuance of CNIC is often delayed.

An applicant told this scribe that he had paid Rs180 fee for an urgent card on May 17 and the Nadra office had sent the forms for verification to registration office which has not yet returned the form. Public circles have urged the government to make easy the procedure for the issuance of CNIC.
