APNS urged to accept SC verdict

Published May 26, 2004

ISLAMABAD, May 25: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the All-Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (Apnec) have regretted the stand of the All-Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) over the proposed linkage of government advertisements with implementation of the 7th Wage Award for newspaper employees.

In a statement, the PFUJ and Apnec said that instead of accepting the Supreme Court verdict pertaining to the implementation of the award, the APNS appeared to be continuing with the delaying tactics of last four years.

The PFUJ and Apnec urged the APNS to accept the Supreme Court verdict and to allow justice to prevail so that newspaper workers were able to perform their professional duties with peace of mind.
