By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 25: A woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of two accomplices in a Korangi locality on Tuesday morning. Two persons were about to shift a body from a house in Zia Colony, early in the morning to dispose it of, when area people spotted them and became suspicious. They caught one of the suspects, identified as Akbar, while his accomplice fled.

They handed over Akbar to the police, along with the body. During initial interrogation Akbar told the police that he had relations with Naseem, the wife of the victim, Amanullah, 43.

On Monday night, Naseem gave an over dose of sleeping pills to her husband. Later, Akbar came and strangulated Amanullah with electric wire with the help of Naseem, the police said.

The police said that Naseem was mother of four children and had met Akbar two years ago. The police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for the post-mortem examination. Amanullah was a taxi driver. An FIR of the murder was lodged at the Korangi police station.

ENCOUNTER: A suspected bandit was killed in what police claimed to be an encounter in Sir Syed town on Tuesday. Police said that three armed men had barged into a house in North Karachi. Someone from the neighbourhood had informed the police on 15.

As the armed suspects were fleeing from the spot, police mobile reached the spot and an exchange of fire ensued. The police claimed that during the shoot out, accused Ishaq died, while his accomplices, identified as Inyat and Viru, were arrested by the police.

Three TT pistols were recovered from 'bandits,' the police claimed. The police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

SUICIDE: A middle-aged man committed suicide by consuming poison in Shah Latif Town late on Monday night. Police said that Sajid Husain, 40, was unemployed for several months. On Monday night he consumed some poisonous substance. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died during treatment.
