Heads of ARD parties meet today

Published May 25, 2004

ISLAMABAD, May 24: A meeting of the heads of the component parties of the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) will be held here on Tuesday (today) to review the political situation after the restoration of Pakistan's membership to Commonwealth and deportation of PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif.

An ARD office-bearer told Dawn on Monday that the meeting would also finalize the strategy to be adopted by the opposition members during the forthcoming budget session of the National Assembly.

He said the meeting would be hosted by the Pakistan Muslim League-N, and it was also likely to finalize a plan to launch a protest drive against the deportation of Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
