QUETTA, May 24: The Chinese government will continue its cooperation in connection with development projects in Balochistan, says Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Zhang Chun Xiang. He extended the assurance during a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousaf during a meeting on Monday.

Highlighting the cordial relations between Pakistan and China, he said that the ties between the two countries could not be damaged by terrorist acts. He said Chinese workers at the Gwadar port project were not discouraged and were still working diligently, the Chinese envoy said.

The chief minister informed the Chinese ambassador about the security measures taken by the provincial government to protect the Chinese engineers and other officials helping in the construction of the Gwadar Deep Seaport.

Mr Xiang thanked the chief minister for taking effective security measures. Provincial finance minister Syed Ehsan Shah and Senator Mir Naseer Mengal were also present on the occasion.
