Shujaat asked to put off Sindh visit
KARACHI, May 23: Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh, a central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League, has advised the party chief, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, not to start a visit to Sindh, including Karachi
, as the process of sorting out the issues relating to the merger of small groups into mainstream PML was still under way.
He was speaking at a meeting with the party workers representing Karachi and interior Sindh areas at his residence here on Sunday, said a press release. Al-Haj Shamimuddin, Mir Muhammad Khokhar, Sardar Iqbal Ahmed Solangi, Dr Taj, Farooq Awan and other leaders were present at the meeting.
They termed 'unfortunate' the incident that took place at the PML House, Karachi, the other day in which workers of rival groups had indulged in a quarrel and traded allegations against each other.
In view of this situation, the meeting requested Chaudhry Shujaat to postpone his Karachi visit, scheduled for May 29, till the organizational matters were finalized. Those supposed to attend the meeting apprehend that the situation might create an unpleasant atmosphere during the party chief's visit. -PPI
