SANGHAR: Strike observed

SANGHAR, May 22: The Hindu community observed a strike in Sanghar, Khipro, Sinjhoro, Jhol, Shahdadpur, Kandiari and other towns on Saturday to mourn the death of a priest.

The priest, Mohan Bhagat, was killed on Friday in a temple in the Sinjhoro town.

A meeting of the Hindu community was also held at the Khipro community hall. Speaking on the occasion, Dada Lakhraj Mal, Dr Haresh Kumar Pirvani, Kirshan Mal Parvani and others said that they would start protest all over Sindh if the killers were not arrested in 48 hours.

DROWNED: A 12-year-old boy, Abdullah, suffering from epilepsy, drowned in the Khipro Canal in Khipro on Friday evening.

DIED: A man, Ghulam Mustafa Rajar, who had received bullet injuries in a clash over installation of a tube-well at a disputed land near Khipro about a week back, died at a Karachi hospital on Saturday.
