RAWALPINDI, May 19: The senior civil judge, Abdur Rehman, has fixed May 26 for framing charges against 24 PML-N activists, including adviser to the prime minister on women development Nilofar Bakhtiar , in a case related to attack on Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench.

The judge also termed two PML-N activists, Iqbal Subhani and Zafar Iqbal, proclaimed offenders for not appearing in the court during the hearing of the case. The court has started day-to-day hearing of the case on the directives of the Supreme Court.

According to the prosecution, some activists of PML-N had resorted to violence and had attacked the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, in November 1995. The attack had taken place when the court denied bail to Shaikh Rashid Ahmed, now the federal information minister and then a PML-N member, who was nominated in a case for allegedly possessing a Kalashinkov.
