White paper on 'corrupt practices' of rulers

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, May 19: The PML-N will shortly issue a white-paper on the alleged corrupt practices of the present rulers, a party leader said on Wednesday. Inamullah Khan Niazi, additional secretary-general of the provincial organization, said at a news conference that he had gathered irrefutable proofs in support of his allegations.

Mr Niazi has just been released from Multan jail. He urged the army to take notice of the corrupt practices of the present rulers and hold them accountable like opposition leaders had been held.

Criticizing the government for deporting Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Inamullah Khan Niazi said the Supreme Court should take a suo motu notice of the incident. He said the government's action was a challenge to the supremacy and independence of the judiciary.

Mr Niazi said those banishing others should also be prepared for the same fate. He was of the view that the rulers stood unnerved when Mian Shahbaz Sharif returned to Pakistan on May 11 and their nervousness would be far greater when deposed prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif came back to his country.

The PML-N leader challenged the chief minister to contest an election against him from any constituency. In case the chief minister defeated him in a fair election, he said he would join the PML-Q.

He was critical of the tactics being used by the rulers to force opposition legislators to change their loyalties. He warned that the turncoats-to-be would be held to account right in their constituencies.

As for himself, Inamullah Niazi said he would stand steadfast with Mian Nawaz Sharif, irrespective of the consequences he might have to face. Media secretary Nasir Iqbal Ahmed, who has also been set free from Multan jail, was also present at the news conference.
