NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 19: A case was registered against two boys on Wednesday for taking photographs of a young girl in Bhiriya Road town. Hasnain Rajpar and Abid Rajper were booked under section 354 PPC following a strong protest by the residents of the town. One of the accused, Abid Rajpar, was arrested.

Earlier, hundreds of residents of the town took out a procession and staged a sit-in on the railway station, halting trains for hours on Wednesday. A complete strike was also observed in the town.

The protestors were demanding registration of an FIR against the two boys for taking photographs of a nine class girl, Shagufta Arain, on Tuesday. The protestors staged a sit-in on the Bhirya Road railway station as a result the Awam Express down was stopped for about three hours and the Awam express up, Tezrau, and Shah Rukn-Alam express were stopped for two hours on the Bhirya Road station.

On this occasion, the police resorted to baton charge as a result few police officials and protesters were injured. DPO Naushahro Feroze Haji Khan Khoso and DSP headquarter Nisar Channa reached the Bhirya road but angry protesters pelted bricks and stones on them and they left the area.

Accused Hasnain Rajpar is the brother-in-law of Taluka Nazim Zafar Rajpar. The protesters alleged that the police were reluctant to arrest him due to his influence.

TWO INJURED: Unidentified armed thieves injured two tenants, one of them seriously, in M-oro the other day and took away a gun, cash and valuable goods. Four unidentified men entered the house of Mazhar Ali Leghari in Ward-19. In the meantime, the tenants woke up and offered resistance, inviting the thieves to open fire.

Mazhar and Umeed were injured in the firing while the thieves made away with a single barrel gun, cash and valuables. The injured men were admitted to the Moro Taluka Hospital from where Umeed was referred to the Nawabshah Hospital as his condition was critical.
