RAWALPINDI: Clerks observe strike today

By Our Reporter

RAWALPINDI, May 19: The All-Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has said it will observe another countrywide pen-down strike on Thursday to press the government for acceptance of its charter of demands.

Central president of the association Fazal Mabood Khan said at a meeting attended by APCA office-bearers that more than 2.2 million clerks and other low-paid servants and workers would observe strike in all the major districts of the country, including Azad Kashmir.

He said the decision had been taken as the government had failed to accept the clerks' charter of demands. APCA president Rawalpindi Iftikhar Ahmed, central office secretary Mehboob Ali Bhatti, chairman APCA action committee Chaudhry Mubashir Ahmed and other office-bearers also attended the meeting.
