Aisam can play only on PTF terms: Dilawar

KARACHI, May 18: President of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Senator Dilawar Abbas, has said that Aisamul Haq was always welcome to play for PTF and to represent Pakistan in the international events but on the terms and conditions of PTF.

"Aisam shall play for Pakistan in the future Davis Cup ties and he will always be welcome to play for Pakistan but PTF will take no dictation from the players and will work according to the rules," declared PTF chief.

Dilawar pointed out that it is Aisam's responsibility and national duty to play for Pakistan in the international events and added that they would pay him as much as they could.

"PTF General Body approved the match fee for the players and we have to move according to the approved money but we will try to increase the prize money," he said. He also disclosed that the Davis Cup tie against New Zealand would be played at clay court in Pakistan in September and added that Aisam was insisting to play on grass courts in Lahore, but PTF had already decided that the tie would be held on clay court.

Dilawar also said in case of Aisam not participating in the tie the same team that appeared in the last Davis Cup-tie would probably take part. Meanwhile, the PTF has sent entries of Amna Khan and Shaharyar Wali for World Children's Games to be held at USA, Ohio from July 28. -PPI
