HYDERABAD: Lapsed funds restored, says Nazim

HYDERABAD, May 18: District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has said that the lapsed Rs140 million of last year's annual development programme have been restored and will soon be released to the district government.

He was speaking at meeting on affairs of the district government at his secretariat here on Monday, which was attended by the EDOs and engineers of nation building departments and management of the Hyderabad Development Authority.

It discussed present status, allocation, releases and expenditures on 48 ADP development schemes being carried out in the district. The meeting was informed that out of Rs429.304 million annual allocation for the schemes, Rs349.953 million had been released and Rs162.339 million utilized till March 31, 2004, as such the utilization of funds stood at 46 per cent.

The district nazim directed the officers to prepare expenditure reports in current month and immediately submit it to him so that utilization of saved amount could be proposed for other schemes in time. He asked the EDO of the works and services department to submit a report about utilization of Rs37 million which were surrendered by the HDA.
