Muttahida releases 'evidence' against JI

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, May 17: The coordination committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Monday claimed that it had pictorial evidence of the alleged terrorist activities of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal , particularly those of Jamaat-i-Islami in the recent by-elections.

After releasing the alleged evidence against the MMA, the MQM body claimed that it proved that the alliance's activists used fire arms and killed 10 people in indiscriminate firing, including their own workers.

The committee claimed that the picture it had released exposed the lies told by the MMA, to deny its involvement in the alleged acts of terrorism. The committee also claimed that the MMA had ruined peace of the city by employing terrorist tactics and was doing politics over bodies.

It said that the MQM and provincial governor Dr Ishratul Ibad had done a lot to restore peace and normality in the city and to infuse confidence among the investors. The committee asked the people to take independent decision after seeing the evidence.

Meanwhile, the convener of the committee, Dr Imran Farooq, expressed deep sorrow over the killing of a MQM sympathiser, Noshad, allegedly by the "terrorists" belonging to a religious party during the MMA-backed strike. He also accused the religious parties of resorting to terrorism and violence to destabilize the Sindh and central governments.
