MOSCOW, May 17: A Moscow court has sentenced three Pakistanis to between eight and 10 years in prison for kidnapping nine Indians, the RIA Novosti news agency reported on Monday.
Arrested in January 2003 in Moscow, the three Pakistanis admitted having taken part in the illegal trafficking of the nine Indians but they denied having organized their kidnapping to extort money.
According to investigators, the Pakistanis had also run a trafficking network that transported citizens of south Asia to western Europe via Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. -AFP
