JWP hails Congress win in Indian polls

By Our Staff Reporter

QUETTA, May 17: Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has welcomed the victory of Indian National Congress and the left parties in Indian general elections.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the Indian elections would have a deep impact on the whole world and its politics and the entire world community felt its outcome.

"India has proved to be the biggest democracy and much bigger than the United States," Nawab Bugti said, adding that the ahead of schedule elections held by the Bharatia Janata Party and the ruling parties' defeat in the election confirmed that Indian democracy is effective, vibrant and a victory of the system.

"Holding fair, free and transparent elections on such a large scale is a record confirming that the Indian elections were more transparent, just, fair and free than those held in Britain and the United Station," Mr Bugti said.
