PFF announces 1st round schedule of National League

LAHORE, May 15: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Saturday announced the first round schedule of the national league in which 10 teams out of total 16 will be involved.

Ten teams will play 36 matches at three grounds in Rawalpindi-Islamabad.

As the selection of the remaining six teams from three provinces had been delayed due to late start of the preliminary round, PFF has decided to start with 10 teams.

Eight top teams of the last President's PFF Cup - PTCL, KRL, Army, Navy, Wapda, ABL, KPT and HBL will appear in the league. Young Eleven, Dera Ismail Khan and Mardan Club, have qualified from NWFP.

The league is being organized on home and away basis. In all 60 matches would be played in Rawalpindi-Islamabad because four departmental teams have their headquarters there.

The departmental and provincial teams play 15 matches each in Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan. In the next round, 60 matches would be played in Lahore and 30 in Quetta and later 60 in Karachi.

The league will start with the opening match between Army and Young Eleven Dera Ismail Khan at Army Stadium on May 28.

Schedule (team named first will be the host):

May 28: Army v Young XI Dera Ismail Khan at Army Stadium.

May 29: KRL v Mardan Club Mardan at KRL Stadium.

May 30: Navy v Young XI D.I. Khan at Naval Sports Complex.

May 31: PTCL v Mardan Club, Mardan at Islamabad-Rawalpindi.

June 1: KRL v Young Eleven at KRL Stadium.

June 2: Army v Mardan Club, Mardan at Army Stadium.

June 3: PTCL v Young Eleven D.I. Khan at Islamabad-Rawalpindi.

June 4: Navy v Mardan Club, Mardan at Naval Sports Complex.

June 5: KRL v Army at KRL Stadium.

June 6: Navy v Wapda at Naval Sports Complex.

June 7: PTCL v KRL at Islamabad-Rawalpindi.

June 8: Army v ABL at Army Stadium.

June 9: KRL v Wapda at KRL Stadium.

June 10: Navy v Army at Naval Sports Complex.

June 11: PTCL v ABL at Islamabad-Rawalpindi.

June 12: Navy v KRL at Naval Sports Complex.

June 13: Army v Wapda at Army Stadium.

June 14: PTCL v Navy at Islamabad-Rawalpindi.

June 15: KRL v ABL at KRL Stadium.

June 16: Army v Navy at Army Stadium.

June 17: PTCL v Wapda at Islamabad-Rawalpindi.

June 18: Navy v ABL at Naval Sports Complex.

June 19: Army v KRL at Army Stadium.
