KARACHI: Man axes wife to death

KARACHI, May 15: A man axed his wife to death on suspicion of infidelity at his home on Saturday, in Quaidabad. Police said that Abdul Rahim, resident of Bengali Para, Quaidabad, suspected his wife, Bar Haleema, 40, mother of six , of having an affairs with someone, which often caused quarrels between the two. On Saturday, their arguments turned violent and Abdul Rahim hit his wife with an axe, killing her on the spot. The suspect escaped leaving the axe.

The police shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy. Rahim's son, Gul Rahim, got a case registered with the police against his father.

BODIES FOUND: Two bodies were found on Saturday in different areas of the city, besides a wounded man, who died later.

A man, in his early 30s, was found wounded by a bullet, in a car in Block-13, Gulistan-i-Jauhar. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead. The hospital sources said that the victim had suffered a bullet wound in his head, which proved fatal. A pistol was also found in the car, the hospital sources said.

However, the Gulistan-i-Jauhar and Sharea Faisal police drew a blank on it.

A bullet-riddled body of a man, in his early 30s, was found near a graveyard behind the Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth police limits.

The police said that the body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy, where it was revealed that the man had been shot in the head. His body was kept at the Edhi morgue for identification.

Another bullet-riddled body was found near the COD graveyard in Sharea Faisal police limits.

The police said that the victim's body was found in Block-19, Gulistan-i-Jauhar and was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. He was later identified as Sohail, 30, a resident of Liaquatabad No.4.

The police said that Sohail was released on bail by a court in a robbery case. He lived in Rabia City apartments with a woman, who registered a case against unknown killers, the police added.

DIES: A man, who had been admitted to a hospital three days back with head injuries, died on Saturday.

Police said that the man, identified as Abdul Majid, 32, had been kidnapped by two men - Zahid and Waseem - as they allegedly wanted their money back from Majid, who had failed to return the borrowed amount.

The police said that according to the doctors, Majid had suffered head injury, which proved fatal. He was either hit in the head with a blunt weapon or suffered a head injury by falling from a moving vehicle, the police said.
