SARGODHA: Sargodha bar's strike

SARGODHA, May 15: The district bar association (DBA) here on Saturday observed a complete strike against the alleged police high-handedness and delay in registration of a case for torturing the son-in-law of a senior lawyer.

The protest meeting was, however, adjourned after Additional Sessions Judge Hafeezullah Khan ordered registration of a case against the Cantonment SHO and his subordinates under sections 156, 365, 192, 193, 211 of PPC.

The judge also sought a copy of the FIR.

The lawyers said earlier, District and Sessions Judge Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed had ordered the DPO to hold an inquiry through an ASP and register the case to that effect. But he deputed the SP (headquarters) who not only delayed the proceedings but favoured the police employees, they alleged.

A police officer on anonymity said though a case would be registered upon the court orders, how a police officer would arrest or go against his colleague.
