WASHINGTON, May 14: Pakistan will share its assessment of the Indian elections with senior US officials when Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri meets them in Washington next week, officials said.
Mr Kasuri is arriving here on May 19 for a three-day visit as part of a series of meetings aimed at enhancing bilateral talks, Pakistan Embassy in Washington announced.
But what was supposed to be a regular visit has assumed an added significance because of the election results in India.
"Yes, we will give our assessment of the election results. India-Pakistan relations will figure prominently in these talks," Pakistan's deputy chief of mission, Mohammed Sadiq, told Dawn.
Mr Kasuri is scheduled to meet Secretary of State Colin Powell on May 19.
