PESHAWAR: Action against FIA official ordered
Bureau Report
PESHAWAR, May 14: Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajab Ali Khan has directed the regional director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against an official of the agency for repeatedly violating court's order.
The official, an FIA centre incharge, has been violating court's direction to appear before the court. He also failed to reply in a contempt of court petition filed by applicant Zahir Shah.
Earlier, the court had directed the FIA incharge to return a trailer to the applicant, but the official failed to comply with court orders. After this, the applicant filed the contempt of court petition, requesting an action against the incharge.
A letter sent to FIA Director Malik Naveed by Judge Rajab Ali Khan on May 12, states that a trailer (registration No NSR 1122) was taken into custody on Jan 8, and an FIR was filed against the persons on the vehicle under sections 6,7,8, 9 and 14 of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act.
The FIA claimed to have seized a big haul of charas from the trailer. The letter also states that on April 7, orders were issued to the FIA incharge to return the trailer. But on April 17, the applicant filed a contempt of court petition, stating that the incharge had refused to obey court's order.
