Rebels plan to sue ZCU board
HARARE, May 11: Zimbabwe's former captain Heath Streak and 14 other sacked rebel players are planning to sue the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) for "destroying their livelihoods", the players' lawyer said on Tuesday.
The ZCU terminated their contracts on Monday in a dispute that began on April 2 when Streak's tenure as captain ended after he questioned the composition of the selection panel.
The rebels made themselves unavailable and demanded arbitration on his removal as captain, the make up of the selection panel and the alleged poor conduct of ZCU officials.
"The guys are busy quantifying their claims, and we will bring claims against the ZCU for destroying their livelihood," the players' lawyer, Chris Venturas, said. -Reuters
