Qazi slams Muttahida

Published May 12, 2004

KARACHI, May 11: Acting President of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, has said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement gave nothing to masses except terrorism, extortionism and packed dead bodies despite being in power for four times and appealed to masses to vote for the MMA for resolution of their problems.

He was addressing public meetings on Monday night in connection with election campaigns of Qari Mohammad Usman (NA-240) and Hafiz Muhammad Taqi (NA-243) in Baldia and New Karachi.

He said MMA's success in elections would guarantee peace, continuity of development works and a bright future. He hoped the darkness of terrorism and American agents' conspiracies would end.

Qazi, who is also Amir Jamat-e-Islami, appealed to masses not to get enraged with activities of terrorists and extortionists. "Harassment of voters, occupation of polling stations, bogus voting and massive rigging under government patronage has been planned. But masses would have to come out of their homes to defeat terrorists and government's extortionists." -PPI
