KHAIRPUR: Part of tree falls on students: 'Open air' school

KHAIRPUR, May 9: A schoolteacher, Mohammad Bux Mallah, and 13 students were injured when a portion of a tree fell on them in Agra town, Sobhodero taluka, on Saturday.

A delegation of parents told newsmen in Khairpur that students were getting education under trees due to a shortage of classrooms in the government primary school in Agra. They demanded that classrooms should be constructed. The injured students were admitted to a local hospital.

DIES: A labourer, Hidayat Gopang, died of heatstroke in Kumb town on Saturday. He was offloading bags from a truck and fell unconscious. He was rushed to a hospital but could not survive.

SUICIDE: A villager, Sadiq Mangnejo, 30, committed suicide by shooting himself from a pistol in Parto Wahan village near Sobhodero on Saturday.

MEETING: Scores of people in a meeting in Wada Mahesar near Ahmedpur, Kingri taluka on Saturday decided to take steps to recover two missing girls, Marvi Maitlo and Bachal Maitlo. They warned that if the police failed to recover the girls within two days, they would block the National Highway.
