KARACHI: MQM accuses rivals of attacking poll offices

KARACHI, May 9: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Sunday accused the PPP and Jamaat-i-Islami activists of attacking and ransacking their election offices, uprooting their camps and resorting to violence against their workers.

Speaking at a hurriedly-called press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Sunday night, MQM's candidate for PS-127 Yusuf Munir Shaikh, MPA Abdul Quddous and MNA Shamim Siddiqui alleged that the MQM's office opened in Sumar Khandani in Malir was attacked by PPP's armed "terrorists". He said they were being led by MPA Sajid Jokhyo.

Mr Abdul Quddous said that Jamaat-i-Islami's "goondas" attacked the MQM's camp in Unit No157 in Liaquatabad. MQM's legislators urged relevant authorities to to take notice of the situation and order immediate action against the cuplrits.
