Shahbaz be allowed to return: Asghar

KARACHI, May 8: Qaumi Jamhoori Party chief Air Marshal (r) Asghar Khan has said that the former Punjab chief minister, Shahbaz Sharif, should be allowed to return home.

"Let him come and face trials... but no new cases should be framed against him," he told a news conference here on Saturday.

He said his party was trying to invite 'veteran but respected' politicians at a conference to discuss various issues and identify mistakes committed by the government.

"We meet once in a month and discuss the problems being faced by the country and its people. Next of the meetings would be held on Sunday," he said.

Rejecting the government's tall claims about an improvement in economy, Asghar Khan observed that people are still suffering due to the ever-increasing prices of essential commodities, besides many other problems. -PPI
