KHAIRPUR, May 8: People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Qaim Ali Shah has said that tribal chieftains have been encouraged by the attitude of Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar who affixes Sardar to his name.

Speaking at a convention of Awam Dost Panel councillors and Nazims here on Saturday at the residence of Sher Mohammad Phulpoto, ADP candidate for the district Naib Nazim seat, he said that the Sardari system had been strengthened in the province after induction Mr Mahar as the chief minister, he said.

He said that after induction of the present Sindh government, the district government system had been destroyed and added that the provincial ministers were transferring not only officials but also low-grade employees.

He said that although 11 departments had been devolved under the new system but practically officials of the departments were working under the provincial ministers.

The PPP leader also criticized the law and order situation in Sindh, saying the chief minister and the governor were only interested in saving their seats.

He said that flour crisis was looming large in Sindh as the target of wheat procurement had not been achieved in the province.

MNA Nawab Wassan, PPP district president Sajid Bambhan, Mubeen Phulpoto, Sher Mohammad Phulpoto and others also spoke on the occasion.
