SHIKARPUR: 31 injured in accident

SHIKARPUR, May 8: Thirty-one persons were injured in a collision between a coaster and a Datsun pickup on the Shikarpur-Jacobabad road at the Bypass Road Chowk on Saturday morning.

The injured, including Shahmore, Mohammad Bux, Shaukat Ali, Mubarak Ali, Dur Mohammad, Hakim Ali, Abdul Rasheed, Dodo Khan, Shah Murad, Shah Mohammad, Ghani, Mehar Dil, Sher Mohammad, Banhon Khan, Shah Bux, Lal Bano, Pyaro, Rahib Hussain, Muneer Ahmad, Khuda Bux, Mehmood, Saait Khatoon, passerby Rab Nawaz, Hanifan alias Hani, Saeedan, Gul Bano, Waderi, Bakhtawar and Mehar Bibi, were admitted to the Shikarpur Civil Hospital.

The Ratodero-bound pickup (WAC-648), carrying a marriage party from Tangwani, Jacobabad, collided with the Thul-bound coaster (P-0184), coming from Shikarpur.

The New Faujdari police registered a case and arrested drivers of the two vehicles.

KILLED: Ghulam Mustafa Marfani, 40, was shot dead by five persons in the Habib Jakhro village on Friday over an old enmity.

Two of the accused were identified as Farooq Marfani and Ghulamullah Marfani.

The Garhi Yasin police registered a case on the complaint of Ghaus Bux Marfani, father of the deceased.

PROCESSION: The District Contract Primary School Teachers Association took out a procession in Garhi Yasin here on Friday, demanding regularization of services of contract teachers.

They also demanded increase in their salary.
