LAHORE: Prayer leader found slain

LAHORE, May 8: Unidentified people killed a prayer leader in Johar Town here on Saturday. According to police, Qari Zubair, 27, a resident of Khushab , was asleep in the courtyard of the mosque when some culprits broke into the premises, attacked him with clubs and escaped. Zubair died on the spot.

He was found dead by people who came to the mosque for their Fajr prayers. They informed the police who took the body into its custody and later sent it to the city morgue for autopsy.

The police said the murder of Qari Zubair was not sectarian terrorism. They said that the box placed to collect money for the mosque was found broken.
