QUETTA, May 6: The Balochistan Assembly adopted on Thursday six resolutions, one of which demanded of the federal government to restore PIA flight between Turbat and Sharjah to facilitate the people of Makran to have a better communication link with the Gulf states.

Speaker Jamal Shah Kakar chaired the session, and the house allowed the adjournment motion of Abdur Rahim Ziaratwal to be turned into a resolution which demanded of the Wapda authorities to build Sabakzi dam near Zhob, without changing its designed height, to irrigate more land.

The chair also allowed the adjournment motion of Mr Ziaratwal relating to the increase of petroleum to be debated on Friday for two hours. Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf, speaking on the privilege motion of Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali that was not pressed, assured the house that special investigation committee would probe the irregularities committed in the construction of roads in Nasirabad and other areas and any official found guilty would be punished.

The joint resolution of Jan Mohammad Buledi, Rehmat Ali Baloch and Dr Shama Ishaq Baloch said the PIA flight between Turbat and Sharjah was suspended without any justification, creating problems for the people of Makran working in the Gulf states and demanded its restoration twice a week.

The house also adopted a resolution of Shabir Ahmed Badani demanding of the provincial government to review the settlement of the land issue in 1967 leading to registration of tribal lands into state land. The mistake, the resolution said, was creating disputes amongst the tribesmen.

The resolution moved by Jaffar Khan Mandokhel stressed upon the federal government to start rail service between Quetta and Zhob to provide travelling facility to the people of the area.

Kachkol Ali Baloch's resolution demanded of the provincial government to establish a high court bench in Turbat so that the people of Makran were saved from the inconvenience caused to them for attending the hearings of their cases in Quetta.
