Mahar urges all Leagers to unite

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 5: Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar, who returned to the city from Islamabad on Wednesday with additional responsibility as President of the unified PML , has said that the problems being faced by the people of Sindh cannot be solved until all Muslim Leaguers got united.

Addressing a big crowd of PML activists and supporters who had gathered at the Quaid-i-Azam International Airport to accord him a warm welcome after his nomination as the provincial chief of the PML, Mr Mahar said that the people of Sindh had a broad political vision. "In different periods, various political parties came to power, none of them could deliver goods to the masses," he said.

Pointing out that various PML factions had reunified at one platform under the leadership of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, the chief minister said that the party had many senior leaders in its fold and that his efforts would be to take along all of them once all the factions were merged into the mainstream.

Mr Mahar asked the provincial ministers to make the PML House a centre to serve party workers. On this occasion, he announced that he would spend one day in a month at the party office to meet party workers.

"My efforts would be to come up to the expectations of the party high command with regard to the handling of the party affairs," he remarked. The CM hoped that his nomination as the PML Sindh chief would be confirmed soon.

He said that he would be visiting every city, town and district in the province to meet local leaders and activists, as well as elders and prominent figures with invitation to join the PML. Sardar Mahar was brought from the airport in a procession to the CM's House.
