Red alert on all airports

RAWALPINDI, May 4: All airports in the country have been put on red alert in the wake of credible reports of a plane hijacking plot, official source told Dawn on Tuesday. "There is a serious threat of hijacking of a passenger plane from any airport of the country," the source said.

However, the source did not specify whether the threat was specifically for the national flag carrier. "The state of red alert is always higher than the high alert. Tightened security will ensure safety of passengers and the plane," the source said.

"All airports in the country were placed on red alert on Monday at 5pm in the wake of the threat. It is a confirmed threat," the source said.
