, retired from international cricket almost a year ago after a record 502 wickets in One-day Internationals.
Wasim, who turns 38 next month, in a distinguished career spanning over 18 years also took 414 Test wickets - the only bowler to claim more than 400 wickets in both Tests and One-day internationals.
Mr Ahmad Saeed, the PIA chairman, has consented to be the chief guest, while galaxy of former Pakistan cricket greats, current Test stars and legends belonging to other sports will attend this sporting extravaganza.
PIA has a rich tradition of promoting and grooming sportsmen in various sports and a number of sporting legends have been associated with the national carrier.
The Big Bang Communications Limited (BBCL) is managing this event to pay tribute to the champion cricketer, sponsored by PIA. Versatile compere Anwar Maqsood will host the programme, which also features a musical show.
