Balochistan Assembly condemns blast

By Amanullah Kasi

QUETTA, May 4: Balochistan Assembly observed a two-minute silence on Tuesday to pay tribute to people who lost their lives in Monday's bomb blast in Gwadar.

The assembly passed a resolution condemning the subversive act and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones, as well as the Chinese government.

Finance Minister Syed Ehsan Shah of BNP-Awami who hails from the coastal belt while speaking on the condolence resolution and expressing his sorrow over the incident, maintained that the conspiracy was aimed at affecting brotherly relations with China.

The minister said the opportunistic approach of anti-progress elements was disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the province.

Deputy Speaker Mir Aslam Bhootani who tabled the joint condemnation resolution in his harsh speech urged President Musharraf and Chief Minister Jam Yousuf to take stern action against those politicians that incite people against the on-going development projects in Balochistan, and he regretted that some elements was threatening to sabotage the development process which would discourage investment finance.
