Indian visa office in Sindh sought

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 1: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has taken up with the foreign office the issue of allowing Indian embassy to open a visa camp office in Karachi to facilitate a large number of intending travellers to India.

Talking to Dawn, party's information secretary, Kunwar Khalid Yunas, criticized the apathy of foreign office towards intending travellers to India.

He said the Indian High Commissioner, who visited Karachi recently, had complained that Islamabad was denying permission for opening visa camp office there.

He said that they expect from Islamabad to consider among other things the revival of railway line between Monabao and Khokhrapar.

The MQM leader said that as part of CBMs between Islamabad and New Delhi the Wahga route was immediately opened but opening of other exit/entry points, linking Sindh with Indian borders were still awaiting a nod.
